Blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) are used to determine is a driver is impaired over the legal limit.<\/p>\n<p>The NC DWI law does the following:[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;15&#8243;]<div class=\"iwithtext\"><div class=\"iwt-icon\"> <i class=\"icon-default-style fa fa-flag accent-color\"><\/i> <\/div><div class=\"iwt-text\"> \n<p>Revokes a driver\u2019s license for 30 days for anyone upon refusal of an alcohol or drug test or who has a 0.08 BAC (0.01 BAC if under 21 years old).<\/p>\n <\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"iwithtext\"><div class=\"iwt-icon\"> <i class=\"icon-default-style fa fa-flag accent-color\"><\/i> <\/div><div class=\"iwt-text\"> \n<p>Allows an officer to seize your vehicle and forfeit all driving privileges for someone who is impaired and whose license is currently revoked for a DWI or who is impaired and has no license or insurance.<\/p>\n <\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"iwithtext\"><div class=\"iwt-icon\"> <i class=\"icon-default-style fa fa-flag accent-color\"><\/i> <\/div><div class=\"iwt-text\"> \n<p>Creates a \u201czero tolerance\u201d law for underage drinkers and drivers of commercial vehicles, school buses and day car vehicles.<\/p>\n <\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"iwithtext\"><div class=\"iwt-icon\"> <i class=\"icon-default-style fa fa-flag accent-color\"><\/i> <\/div><div class=\"iwt-text\"> \n<p>Imposes a $10,000 maximum fine for DWI offenses<\/p>\n <\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243; animation=&#8221;none&#8221; column_padding=&#8221;no-extra-padding&#8221; column_padding_position=&#8221;all&#8221; background_color_opacity=&#8221;1&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Blood Alcohol Concentration<br \/>\n<\/strong>Measuring a person\u2019s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level is the most common way NC law enforcement officers determine if you\u2019re legally impaired.
